Quants

Quants is short for “quantitative analysts.” They are finance professionals who specialize in using mathematical and statistical methods to develop algorithms, models, and strategies for trading, risk management, and other financial activities. Quants typically have strong backgrounds in mathematics, physics, computer science, or engineering, and they apply these skills to analyze financial markets and design algorithmic trading strategies. They work in various areas of finance, including investment banks, hedge funds, and proprietary trading firms. Their role is to use data-driven approaches to solve complex financial problems and identify profitable trading opportunities.
