FOMO

« Back to Glossary Index

Fear of Missing Out.

FOMO can be a dangerous emotion. It’s that rush of anxiety you feel when you see an asset skyrocketing, and you jump in to buy without doing proper research, afraid you’ll miss out on big profits.

This often leads to impulsive decisions, like buying at a peak or selling at a loss, just because you’re following the crowd.

FOMO in trading can cloud your judgment, making you stray from your original strategy and potentially resulting in financial loss. It’s essentially the opposite of disciplined, rational trading.
